THE PROBLEM: The manual process of accessing organizational data from legacy and distributed home-grown applications is intensive from a time, human, and cost perspective. So, when the client, a Washington based consulting organization, encountered a similar challenge to measure and monitor the Human Resource, Business Operation, and Finance related data, they approached us for an automated self-service cloud based analytical solution..
THE SOLUTION: Cominfo was engaged to developed One Unified solution to ingest data into Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). Cominfo extracted data from several distributed source systems such as Oracle, ServiceNow, Salesforce, and legacy systems using Microsoft SSIS to extract data in automated manner, data was hosted in SQL Azure. Power BI reporting services were used to present data to business units using Row Level Security and cloud gateway for data refresh.
RESULTS: Web-based Power BI solution saved the client, valuable hours and infrastructure costs spent in manually generating reports and increase productivity, efficiency, and accuracy. Client was able to analyze patterns of iteration and retention rate by geographical, gender, title, and ethnicity across the globe.
